Freedom March NYC, (“FMNYC,” “we,” “us” or “our”) respects the privacy of our community members, and we are committed to the responsible handling and protection of your Personal Information (as defined below). This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains the privacy practices and procedures of FMNYC regarding the information we collect, use, and disclose of via our Website our Social Media Accounts, and any other apps, other digital channels, tools and properties (together as the “Sites”). “Websites” means https://www.freedommarchnyc.com and such other URLs or web addresses as we may make available in the future, as well as all associated protocols (e.g., https and https), subdomains and paths associated with the relevant domains. “Social Media Accounts” means @FreedomMarchNYC on Instagram, Facebook.com/FreedomMarchNYC and our other social media accounts and channels. This Policy applies solely to information collected by or in connection with these sites or social media accounts.

You acknowledge that this Policy is part of our Terms of Service, and by using our Sites, you agree to be bound by all of its terms and conditions and all applicable law and regulation. If you do not agree and consent, please do not provide us with any of your Personal Information and discontinue your use of the Sites.

Please note that we may be compelled to disclose information you provide to us in order to comply with applicable laws, orders and regulations, such as warrants and subpoenas.

I. PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT FROM YOU

“Personal Information” is information that can be used to identify you by itself or when it is combined with other information, such as your first and last name, e-mail address, and postal address. We and our agents, vendors, consultants, and other service providers (collectively, “Service Providers”) may collect the following types of Personal Information directly from you when you use our Sites to subscribe to our email and alert services covering upcoming FMNYC actions:

  • Email Address;

  • City or Zip Code;

  • First Name;

  • Last Name; and

  • Phone Number.

We may also collect information related to our correspondences with you, including through our Social Media Accounts, your responses to lead ads or questionnaires, and transactions related to us.

Please note that although FMNYC operates Social Media Accounts, these accounts are subject to the policies and procedures of the applicable social media platform. FMNYC is not responsible for and makes no representations regarding third party policies and practices, including those related to social media, and we encourage you to familiarize yourself with and consult their applicable policies and terms of use. Please think carefully before making your Personal Information public on social media.

 

II. PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT AUTOMATICALLY

We and our Service Providers may collect certain information automatically when you interact with our Sites (“Usage Information”). Usage Information may include:

  • The dates and times that you used or subscribed to the Sites;

  • Your IP address;

  • Your browser type;

  • Your operating system;

  • Device identifiers; and

  • Any files you upload as part of your submission to the Sites.

  • Register your subscription or membership to the Sites, or to participate in an action;

  • Communicate with you about our activism, events and upcoming actions;

We may use Usage Information for purposes such as customizing our users’ visits to our Sites, delivering content tailored to our users’ interests, and managing our organization. We may also use this information to help diagnose technical and service problems and administer our Sites.

 

V. HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION

VI. HOW WE SECURE INFORMATION

FMNYC takes the security of our community members and subscribers’ information seriously. Accordingly, we use appropriate technologies and procedures to protect information we collect from you, including your Personal Information. However, we cannot guarantee the security or confidentiality of information you transmit to us or receive from us when using our services (e.g., FMNYC upcoming action alerts).

VII. HOW WE RETAIN INFORMATION

We retain Personal Information for as long as we deem reasonable for legal or business purposes. We determine the retention period with consideration of applicable U.S. federal and state laws and contractual obligations.

VIII. DATA STORAGE IN UNITED STATES

We use and rely on third party data hosting services to host our Sites on servers located in the United States (“Hosting Services”). This means that if you do not reside in the U.S., then your information, including your Personal Information, will be transferred out of your country of residence and to the U.S., and such information will be processed and stored in the U.S.

The policies and practices described in this Privacy Policy do not apply to Hosting Services and we make no warranty or claim regarding the privacy, confidentiality, integrity and security of any information and data stored or retained by Hosting Services.

If you do not want your Personal Information to be transferred to a server located in the U.S., you should not provide us with your Personal Information or use the Sites.

If you are not a resident of the U.S., by using the Sites, you consent to the storage and processing of such information in the U.S., which may have data protection laws that are different from those of your country of residence.

IX. USE OF SITES BY MINORS

Our Sites and our subscription are intended specifically for adults and not for children under 18 years old or the age of majority established under the applicable U.S. state law. FMNYC does not knowingly collect Personal Information about children under the age of majority.

X. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

FMNYC reserves the right to change this Policy. Any changes will become effective when we post the revised Privacy Policy on our Sites. Your use of the Sites following such changes means that you accept the revised Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review our Policy from time to time.
